Some ideas for your visit to other islands:

Antiparos:

This is the small island south-west of Paros. It is very similar in style but much smaller. If you want a quiet holiday especially with children, it may be ideal.

Good for a daily trip, as it is easy to be accessed by little boats from the harbour in Parikia or the little town Pounda about 8 km south of Parikia. Boats from Parikia only take about 25 minutes; they run frequently and are very cheap.

The caves in Antiparos are interesting to visit.

Mykonos:

You'll either love it or hate it, with Mykonos there seems to be nothing inbetween. The main town is very beautiful and there are incredible beaches around the island. Known as the "gay island" Mykonos is stylish, has a vibrating atmosphere and party goes on day and night.

Unfortunately, the prices are way over average and almost unaffordable in the high season. If you'd like to see Mykonos but prefer it quiet, choose an accommodation in a location outside the main town. The island itself is pretty rocky and dry and doesn't offer too much for nature-lovers. The roads are not so good, so be careful on motorbikes!

Naxos:

Bigger and greener than Paros, mountainous, similar in style. It has wide long beaches and beautiful countryside and good routes for trekking and walking. Not as busy as some other islands - except during high season -, therefore also ideal for a quiet family holiday. Nice if you like the more original, untouched island.

Santorini (also called "Thira"):

If you come to the Cyclades, you shouldn't really miss Santorini. It is a volcanic island (black sand!) and its main town is built high above the sea and offers a spectacular view. Good for sightseeing!

Ios:

Party, party, party! Beautiful small island that for some reason has nightlife with a reputation! I have seen T-shirts that say "I survived Ios"!

If you want to avoid the party crowds, go to Ios in the low season, when students are still at school or college, and enjoy this very pretty traditional island.

Amorgos:

Compared to the others this is a tiny island that is not very busy. It has rugged mountains and is interesting if you'd like to see something "else".

Very recommendable, not too expensive, and with excellent walking routes. Beware of boat connections being less frequent, approx. 2x a week! Beaches are pretty remote.

Delos:

Delos was the spiritual centre in ancient Greece and is practically one whole archaeological site. Only for sightseeing, great if you are interested in history.

Can only be visited for the day, usually combined with a daily trip to Mykonos.
